Application Support Specialist

Job Summary

The Applications Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring service availability, reliability, uptime and maintenance as per service level agreement by providing technical support and guidance for the Core Banking application and Delivery channel systems, Management Information Systems and other third-party systems related applications.

Report to: Head of IT & Operations

  • Provide advice, technical Support and monitor performance of Core banking system and other critical systems (delivery channels and Digital systems) ,
  • Payment systems (KENEX, TIPS and TISS),RTSIS, HR MIS systems and other third parties systems.
  • Assist Head of department to prepare Annual budget, IT operation plan and keep track of all IT related policies, IT register, Reports and procedures to ensure compliance and regulator standards.
  • Ensure business continuity is achieved by ensuring Disaster Recovery site is maintained and operational as per Disaster Recovery Plan procedure.
  • Ensure Internal and External IT Audits findings are attended as per assigned deadlines.
  • Keeping track of user’s services and incidences requests and oversee their prompt resolution as reported on helpdesk system.
  • End of Day/Month/Year Support and handling issues in the Core Banking System.
  • Manage Deployment and testing of new or enhancements changes/patches in staging environment and production environment as per change management process.
  • Ensure compliance of SLAs with all application systems vendors.
  • Ensure all application systems database backups and replication processes implemented and executed for all applications systems.
  • business requirement, UATs and deployment plan in a manner that adheres to established business and change management processes.
  • Take charge and ensure adequate Information Security coverage maintained at all areas for applications systems.
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure all application systems projects formally managed. FINCA Tanzania – Internal Use (Protected)

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Microsoft or related professional certification is ideal.
  • Experience of not less than 5 years in an information systems position in a reputable financial services organization or related institution
  • 3+ years of experience within a technical support environment, including Core banking applications, Digital and delivery channels systems implementation, Database administration, and other third-party applications experience.
