Dodoma, TANZANIA (July 22, 2025) – Canada's Secretary of State for International Development, the Honourable Randeep Sarai, visited Dodoma, Tanzania, yesterday to announce a new $5 million dollar (CAD), five-year partnership between the Government of Canada and FINCA Canada, in collaboration with FINCA Tanzania. The initiative aims to expand economic opportunities for youth – those aged 30 and under – in East Africa through financial inclusion and entrepreneurship.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, women from FINCA Tanzania had the opportunity to visit Segerea Women’s Prison. This was a unique chance for FINCA women to come together and support their fellow women. They delivered various essential items to the inmates at Segerea Prison. As part ongoing efforts to support the communities it serves, FINCA Tanzania participated in the 2025 Kilimanjaro International Marathon. Event organizers donated a portion of the event’s proceeds, including 5% of each entry fee, to Tumaini La Maisha, a charity that provides free cancer treatment to children in Tanzania. The FINCA Tanzania team, clad in “FINCA Runners” gear, also raised brand visibility among more than 20,000 participants. Congratulations to Chief Commercial Officer, Felician Girambo, who earned a medal for finishing in the 21-kilometer race.

FINCA Tanzania recently extended support to Kaselya Primary School in the Ilemela district of the Mwanza region by donating 70 school desks, a gesture that coincided with the inauguration of the bank’s new branch offices in the North-West region of Tanzania. The desks have the capacity to accommodate more than 250 pupils and are part of FINCA Tanzania’s commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), with a particular emphasis this year on bolstering the education sector.
